Senior Citizens Of Rowlett (SCOR)
SCOR actively seeks to accomplish our founders’ goals with a broad scope of support and services:
• With our Seniors Helping Seniors program we provide financial assistance to qualified seniors for their utilities, rent, medical care, prescriptions, home repairs and other expenses for everyday living.
• We provide Senior Health Seminars the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Rowlett Community Centre. Each Seminar is a presentation on senior health concerns, whether medical challenges or mental health. A healthy lunch is provided afterwards.
• We have provided financial support to local food banks and services, such as First Christian Church’s Hope In Hand, and Veterans Resource & Outreach Center.
• During the Christmas Holidays, we provide presents for residents without family residing in local nursing homes.
• We have provided financial support for senior meals at the Rowlett Community Centre, which may include a presentation on city operations.
